A PHOTOGRAPHIC SOJOURN IN MASSACHUSETTS
Discover the wild, expansive landscapes and creative spirit of Cape Cod, as envisioned and recorded through the lenses of award-winning Magnum photographer Alex Webb and his wife and professional partner Rebecca Norris Webb. Invited into their home and studio, meet Alex and Rebecca in a deeply personal setting, gaining an intimate insight into their artistic process and discussing their books and projects, from Rebecca’s My Dakota to more recent collaborations such as Waves, created in and around their Wellfleet house during the pandemic.
Explore the majestic seascapes that have inspired Alex since his childhood, visiting the historic artists’ colony and art collections that formed the backdrop of his early development as a photographer. What has attracted so many creative people to Cape Cod and nurtured their talent?

AT HOME WITH ALEX AND REBECCA WEBB
Alex and Rebecca Webb extend a very special welcome to their home in Wellfleet, a house that has been in the Webb family for more than sixty years. This rare opportunity lifts the curtain on the artistic processes behind the iconic imagery, with an insightful exploration of their photography studio – the former sculpture studio of Alex’s mother - and archive room. How have the dramatic Cape Cod landscapes influenced their creative vision? Join Alex and Rebecca for lunch at their favourite seafood restaurant and spend time along the coast where Alex captured panoramic seascapes for Waves, their poignant ‘pandemic logbook’.

THE ARTISTIC LANDSCAPES OF CAPE COD
The pristine beaches, dunes and wetlands of Cape Cod National Seashore have inspired generations of artists and writers. In the company of a local photographer, uncover ideal vantage points and put practical skills to the test, before discovering the Dune Shacks of Peaked Hill Bars, a century-old artists’ colony once frequented by the likes of Edward Hopper and Jackson Pollock. Joined by a curator, learn more about Alex’s personal artistic heritage at Provincetown Art Association and Museum (PAAM), home to his mother Nancy’s sculpture archive in addition to paintings by his brother, Patrick and many of his and Rebecca’s photographs. How far does Alex’s family legacy inform his own work?

REVEALING THE CULTURAL HEART OF NEW ENGLAND
Home for the next two nights is downtown Boston. Accompanied by a Harvard ambassador, explore the campus of Harvard University, where Alex once studied, and examine his vibrant street compositions at the University’s Fogg Museum. Alex and Rebecca held their first collaborative exhibition at Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts, where a curator leads a viewing of carefully selected works from one of the nation’s most important photography collections. Have their photographic techniques developed over time? Continue the artistic journey at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, renowned for its Old Masters paintings.
